Tourists traveling to or throughout Thailand may experience disruptions to their travel plans as the countries political unrest continues.
The so far peaceful protests have seen a number of airports closed by members of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) blocking terminal facilities and runways. Airports affected include the holiday resort island of Phuket, Krabi and Hat Yai.
Rail services have also been disrupted by large numbers of staff phoning in sick.
Tourists in the kingdom are advised to confirm their travel plans prior to heading to rail stations or airports and be prepared to make alternate arrangements.
It should be noted that the protests by PAD supporters have so far been peaceful and travelers should remain cool if they find their travel plans disrupted.
