One Stop Shop Established to Aid Investors

THAILAND TRAVEL NEWS: Foreign investors wishing to establish a business in Thailand, or those who wish to expand existing businesses, will soon have an easier task getting the required information.

A new One Stop Service Centre is to be established by the Ministry of Industry after the Cabinet earlier this week approved the Bt51.2 million (about $US1.5 million) the ministry sought for its establishment.

The new centre, to commence operation on October 1, and according to Industry Minister Charnchai Chairungruang, will provide faster services to investors, since officials from investment-related offices will be posted at the one office.

To further assist foreign investors wishing to establish business in Thailand, six new Office of the Board of Investment (BOI) offices are being opened before September in targeted overseas countries.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said that, with Thailand’s plentiful natural resources, skilled workforce, service-mindedness, and living conditions that are conducive to the lifestyle of expatriate business people and their families, investors in Thailand should feel “at ease and at home.”
