Thailand’s reputation has earned yet higher regard and is again acknowledged as a world class destination, including the world top rated resort as confirmed by 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards in Conde Nast Traveler.
Conde Nast Traveler has named Thailand’s Four Seasons Tented Camp, Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai as the world highest rated resort and also the best hotel resort in Asia. Four Season Tented Camp, Golden Triangle is ranked as Number 1 on the best-of list with a sky-high score of 98.9 points. The property is located in a heart of Golden Triangle and, with just 15 luxury tent style rooms, offers majestic views of Thai Jungle, Burma across the Ruak river, and the mountains of Laos.
Each year since 1988, Conde Nast Traveler has selected a sample of readers to vote for the most impressive Hotel Resort destinations. In 2009 Thailand not only won top honors of the year, but also had several rankings in the Top 100 including: Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai (No.6) (93.5), The Chedi, Chiang Mai (No.8) (92.2), Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui (No.9) (91.7), JW Marriott Phuket Resort (No.10) (91.4).
With 5 of the top 10 resorts in the world, there can be little doubt that Thailand is indeed a world class destination for luxury resort enjoyment. Some may wonder where is the Chiang Mai Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi on this list? Perhaps this is just an oversight, because this resort belongs firmly in the top 10 along with the others.

I’ve stayed there I have have to say it’s marvellous. I’m coming back later in the year and was looking for a good hotel, I think it’s the Tented Camp again for me. being so close to Burma/Myanmar and Laos makes it an ideal spot for seeing exotic climbs with an appetite to come back to luxury.
Well done guys!
