On May 9, 2009, Tourism Authority of Thailand and The North Face sporting goods company are sponsoring the second year of the Outdoor Unlimited Chiang Mai Challenge 2009. The event is being organized with help from sports activity specialist, Active Management Asia.

The second year of the Outdoor Unlimited Chiang Mai Challenge promises an adventurous series of sporting events including mountain biking, running, kayaking and swimming. Teams of two will race through the varied mountain terrain surrounding Chiang Mai over a distance of 35 – 50 Kilometers (depending on level).

Any athletes interested in the competition must be older than 14 years old and a team must consist of two athletes. The race will start at 9 am until 2 pm from Chiang Mai 700 Years sports complex and the route will cover an area of Doi Suthep and Maerim district where all athletes will be facing plenty of challenges along the way.

Race level details:
•  Adventure: For novice racers and weekend warriors
•  Extreme: For experienced athletes and racers
