Bangkok International Tattoo Convention 2010

A long-time ago in Thailand having tattoos on the body was considered to be spiritual protection because people believed that tattoos conveyed spiritual messages and proffered special powers. A classic example would be that Thai warriors were tattooed to protect them from the enemy.

In these past times, tattoos were ritually created by monks and the body art was limited to temples. In the modern world, tattoo function quite differently as today’s tattoo ritual has evolved into the art of body painting and a personal statement that is in fashion in every corner of the world.

Today tattoo body art is a booming trend among Thai people and beyond. This year, for the first time, Bangkok will host the International Tattoo Convention on January 15-17, 2010. The convention will be held at Hall 9, Impact Muang Thong Thani Convention Center. This convention will bring together renowned international artists and tattoo enthusiasts over a 3 day period to witness the world’s best works of modern tattoo styles and techniques, both by machines and by hand.

The Bangkok International Tattoo Convention will let visitors experience tattoo works in both traditional and the latest modern designs from the best tattooists from around the world, such as Mick, Shige, Mike Ledger, Tim Hendricks, Federico Ferroni, Fu Hailin, Boog, and more.
