River Kwae Bridge

The 66th anniversary of the infamous “death railway” (River Kwai) Bridge built by Allied prisoners-of-war during World War II, will be celebrated with a light and sound spectacular to honor its construction and those who died building it in a week of celebrations from November 27 to December 8, 2009.

Highlights of festivities include a carnival, folk and cultural performances, historical and archeological exhibitions, and World War II vintage train rides.

The week-long celebrations will take place at the River Kwai Bridge in Kanchanaburi.
