Chiang Mai Ratchaphruek Exposition and Floral Show 2008Visitors to Chiang Mai in early December should mark on their calendars that the site of the Ratchaphruek floral show that astounded visitors for 3 months in 2006 will be re-opening for a limited time exposition beginning December 1, 2008.

Few foreign visitors may be aware that a magnificent outdoor floral exhibition is again being launched at Ratchaphruek Garden in Chiang Mai from December 1 – 10, 2008 and in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.  The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 10pm.

Guests are welcome to visit the exposition free-of-charge and enjoy the beauty of rare and exotic outdoor plants and flowers. Chiang Mai Ratchaphruek Exposition 2008 will also feature a wide range of activities including impressive musical and traditional Thai dance performances, country folk music, jazz band performance with compositions by His Majesty the King, and grand Thai Khon performance (classical mask-play) everyday from 6 pm. to 10 pm.

On December 1 the opening ceremony will feature a stunning Thai lamp theme parade based on traditional lamp designs from all regions of Thailand.  Celebrations will also be held on December 5, his majesty’s birthday, and will include a special blessing ceremony and grand fireworks displays, with 9 stunning sets throughout the evening.
