A Bathing Buddha, or Um Phra Dam Nam ceremony, is a traditional religious and well known ritual held annually in Phetchabun.
The ceremony will begin at 1.00pm. with a procession of Buddha images, called a Praputtamahathammaracha, around the town.
Later, the Bathing Buddha Ceremony will take place in front of Traipoom temple where the Buddha image is bathed in the Pasak River.
After the ritual, the river will be regarded as sacred and people will swim in the river or drink the water.
Buddhists will make merit early in the morning, pay respect and stick gold leaf on the Buddha image, and join a variety of entertainment that night.
Venue: Phetchabun City Hall, in front of Traipoom Temple and Botchanamarn Temple
