Yosakoi Festival in Bangkok

The annual Japanese Yosakoi Festival attracts more than 115,000 tourists each year. This year a Yosakoi Festival will be held in Bangkok during the last weekend of November.

Yosakoi is a Japanese traditional dance originating in the Kochi Prefecture in 1954.

Yosakoi is usually performed by a group of at least 20 dancers, all beautifully donned in brightly colored traditional costumes, who have a pair of naruko (similar to a Ping Ping bat) in their hands while dancing to upbeat Japanese folk songs.

The Bangkok Yosakoi Festival will be joined by more than five groups of dancer from Thailand and Japan, and also feature an outstanding Japanese procession in Bangkok at the National Stadium on the 29th and 30th of November.
