Her singing voice has the power to tug at your heart-strings… and yank you right out of your seat. If you are not yet a big fan of Philippine superstar Lea Salonga, come out and see her performance and you soon will be. Lea is the multi-award winning (including a Tony Award & Olivier Award) singing sensation best known for her major roles on Broadway and in the Disney animated classics Aladdin, Mulan, and Mulan II.
With musical accompaniment by the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, The Magic of Disney & Broadway Musicals will take place on September 12, 2009 at 8 p.m., Plenary Hall, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok. The performance will feature many of the greatest songs from the Disney films Aladdin (Lea is the singing voice of Princess Jasmine), Mulan, & Mulan II (Lea is the singing voice of Mulan), Pocahontas, Cinderella, and more. She will also be performing songs from Broadway classics such as Annie, Miss Saigon, and Les Miserables.
Lea grew up a child star in the Philippines and garnered International recognition when, at the age of 17, she earned the lead role in the soon to be Broadway classic ‘Miss Saigon’ after an International talent search. She has had an astounding career including the chance to perform her singing magic for five Philippine presidents, three US presidents, Lady Diana and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Lea Salonga has received the Presidential Award of Merit from former Philippine president Corazon Aquino and in 2007 received the Order of Lakandula Award, the highest honor that can be given to a civilian, from Philippine president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Lea’s fantastic vocal talents will appeal to people of all ages and especially to those who are young at heart. Bring your whole family and watch The Magic of Disney and Broadway Musicals.

We (my husband and I) were among the lucky people to attend the concert and this was one of the best performances I have ever seen. I did not really know about Ms. Salonga but now I am her new biggest fan (me and several thousand others that were treated to this magical evening). I am now on the Internet searching for more information and came across your nice website.
