With over 50 million cinema admissions each year, attending the cinema is a firmly entrenched social activity in Thailand. Likewise the annual International Film Festival is an eagerly anticipated event on the Thailand social calendar.

Over the last decade the Thai film industry has continually developed its skills, techniques and artistry, while Thai film makers have earned international critical and commercial success. The country is now a favored filming location with fulm makers from all over the world.

This will be the festival’s sixth year, and in spite of its youth, it has firmly established itself on the international circuit.

This year the festival will showcase more than a hundred feature-length and short films, representing the works of filmmakers from Thailand, the ASEAN region, and a selection of some of the most exciting and innovative films from around the world.
