1st Asian Martial Arts Games 2009

Asia is home to many of the most dangerous forms of martial arts in the world. Thailand will be the first to host the 1st Asian Martial Arts Games 2009, which will feature 9 different types of Martial Arts, from 25 April – 3 May in Bangkok and Suphan Buri.

The nine-day competition will take place in 4 different locations: Indoor Stadium Hua Mark, Nimibutr Gymnasium Supachalasai National Stadium, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japanese) Stadium and Sports School Suphan Buri province. The competition will encompass nine different martial arts which originated in many countries across Asia – including Karatedo, Kickboxing, Muay, Wushu and Kungfu, Jujitsu, Pencak Silat, Judo, Taekwondo, and Kurash.

The opening and closing of the 1st Asian Martial Arts Games 2009 will take place at the Indoor Stadium Hua Mark on 28 April and 3 May. This will joined by 2,500 competitors from 45 countries worldwide.
