Thai Language

Thai Language Standard Thai, also known as Central Thai or Siamese, is the official language of Thailand and spoken by more than 65 million Thai people. It is the language used in schools and universities throughout the Kingdom of Thailand.
In addition to Central Thai, most Thai people also speak any number of about a dozen different dialects. Numerous languages not related to Thai are also spoken within Thailand by ethnic minority hill tribes people. These languages include Hmong-Mien (Yao), Karen, Lisu, and others.
The Thai language is a tonal and analytic language. The combination of tonality (syllables can be spoken in five different tones, each relating a different meaning to the syllable), variations on the length of the vowel sounds, and some complex physical production of some of the sounds of the language can make Thai very challenging to learn, but also very interesting. This section is dedicated to the fascinating topic of the Thai language.
